   37. BARE HILL PRESERVE

Size
2.7 Acres

Description
The two properties comprising this preserve are connected by a trail and are part of the land bank's efforts to create a Cross-Tisbury Trail. (Similar efforts are underway in several other towns.) The easterly property was conserved via an agricultural preservation restriction and is a well-known field on the Edgartown Road. The westerly was purchased outright by the land bank in a cooperative acquisition with the town of Tisbury; the original property was split between the land bank and town and was acquired primarily because of its proximity to a town well. "Bare Hill" is thoroughly wooded and sits in shade all summer long; the name is historical and appears in old deeds. Dog-walking (town bylaw requires leashing)

Uses
nature study, hiking, picnicking, mountain biking, horseback-riding dog walking (town bylaw requires leashing), hunting (with permission).

Directions
Park on the Edgartown Road near its intersection with Winyah Lane; property is on the west side of the Edgartown Road.
